Wakefield wraps around Lake Quannapowitt just off I-95/128, about ten miles north of Boston. Main Street's shops run along the lake's south end, the bandstand sits on the common by the water, and the neighborhoods behind downtown are Victorians and colonials. The Haverhill Line stops at Wakefield and Greenwood stations. Harbor Moving LLC runs Wakefield as a regular route out of East Boston — full-service moves quoted from the same published price book we use everywhere.

Lakeside Victorians and Downtown Condos

Near the lake and downtown, Wakefield's homes are the classic stock: Victorians and colonials with high ceilings, narrow staircases, and furniture that went in when furniture was smaller. Downtown adds condos and apartments over and behind the Main Street shops. Greenwood, the town's south village, is single-family streets of capes and colonials. Whatever the house, tell us about the stairs when you book: stairs are $45 per flight, quoted up front, and the crew plans the carry before the truck doors open.

From the Lake to Greenwood

The lakeside streets are Wakefield's postcard — and its tightest parking, which is why we scout the load-in before the day. Downtown moves run on Main Street timing, with shop hours and meters to respect. Greenwood moves like its own small town at the Melrose line. And the west side, toward Reading, is where a lot of Wakefield moves both start and end: families trading between the two towns is one of our most common runs.

Honest Pricing, From the Same Book

Wakefield moves are priced from our published book, the same numbers for everyone: hourly crews at $159/hr for two movers and a truck, $199 for three movers, $249 for four, with a two-hour minimum — or set packages at $399 for a studio or 1-bedroom, $749 for a 2-3 bedroom, and $1,299 for a 4+ bedroom. Stairs are $45 per flight. Need a gap between homes? Storage starts at $125/mo, and junk removal starts at $150. Heading further — down I-93 or Route 128 to Boston, or up toward the Merrimack Valley — longer moves are priced from the same book and confirmed in writing before you book.
